3M™ Wind Turbine Blade Protection Tapes
Our W8607, W8750 and W8780 3M™ Wind Turbine Blade Protection Tapes are designed to prevent leading edge erosion on wind turbine blades. Made from a hardwearing, abrasion-resistant polyurethane elastomer combined with a hardwearing, pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive, our range of tapes are designed to protect glass or carbon fibre wind turbine blades from the damage caused by rain, dirt, sand or other particles. Our tapes are engineered to be tough against erosion, puncture, tearing or weathering and so protect the wind turbine from deterioration.
Our tapes have been stabilised to protect them from long-term degradation caused by UV light, and are solvent-free. Thanks to their easy-to-apply qualities, they require no specialist tools for application; as a result, they bind to complex shapes. You can rely upon them to increase efficiency of the turbine and extend the life of its blades.
3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tapes
Our 8671HS 3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tapes (available in long and short rolls) are transparent and use a high shear acrylic adhesive, making them ideal for providing surface protection within industries such as aerospace. These tough, thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers also come highly recommended for preventing wear-and-tear and paint damage on household items such as bicycles.
3M™ Wind Tape Adhesion Promoters, Sealers and Removers
Our range of wind turbine blade protection tapes can also be combined with our W2600 and W9900 3M™ adhesion promoters, which help to bind them to surfaces such as polyurethane paint, epoxy primers and epoxy composites. Sealers can be used to smooth and protect the edges of the 3M™ Wind Blade Protection Tape, providing additional resistance to environmental exposure, while our 3M tape and residue remover is the tool for removing any of our wind protection tapes.
